Uber Is Ending Its EV Assistance Scheme for London Drivers

Uber is bringing its EV Assistance programme for London drivers to an end after seven years. If you still have funding remaining, there is one last chance to claim it.

Instead of monthly EV Assistance payments, Uber will make a single lump-sum payment to eligible drivers. To qualify, you must complete 150 trips in a fully electric vehicle within eight weeks by 31 August 2026. The payment will then be made automatically on 10 September 2026.

If you are not currently driving an electric vehicle but are planning to switch, you can still qualify for the final payment by meeting the trip requirement before the deadline. Drivers who do not switch or fail to complete the required trips will lose any remaining EV Assistance funding.

The EV Assistance programme launched in 2019 to help London drivers move to fully electric vehicles by reducing the cost of ownership and leasing. Uber says the scheme has now achieved its goal, with most of the available funding already distributed.

If you are thinking about hiring or upgrading to an electric PCO vehicle, now is a good time to check whether you are still eligible for any remaining EV Assistance. If you think you qualify, make sure you complete the required trips before 31 August so you do not miss the final payout.
