Route 213 Heritage Day 2026: High Demand Expected for PCO Car Hire in South London
London Bus Museum is bringing history back to the streets on Saturday, 13th June 2026. Free heritage buses dating from the 1950s to 1970s will run alongside the normal service on Route 213 between Kingston and Sutton, from 10:00 to 17:00.
Open-platform buses with real conductors will serve all Route 213 stops; no booking required. The fleet will mostly feature iconic Routemasters from the late 1950s and 1960s, alongside their predecessor, the RT-type.
Route 213 has been running between Kingston and Sutton since 1921, making this a 105-year milestone.
Heritage events like this are great for a day out, but getting everyone there comfortably is half the battle. If you’re travelling from across London, a private hire vehicle is the easiest way to get your group to the nearest stop along the route, covering areas including Kingston, Norbiton, New Malden, Worcester Park, North Cheam, Cheam, and Sutton.
Events of this scale typically bring increased footfall across South London, creating noticeable demand for PCO-licensed drivers in the area on the day.
If you are a PCO driver in London, days like this are worth noting in your calendar. Demand around event corridors picks up quickly, and those who position themselves early tend to make the most of it.
