London Parking Fines Increased Following Mayor’s Approval

The parking fine in London has been revised. Recently, the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, gave approval to increase the fine from £130 to £160, effective from 7 April 2025. This is the first increase in London’s parking fines since 2010.

According to Wandsworth Council, the number of people fined for parking violations in London has increased by about 50% over the past year.

The 33 boroughs of London requested to increase the parking fine. Apparently, this is to improve the parking situation in the capital.

PCO drivers should now be careful about where they park their cars as the latest fines will take a toll on their daily earnings, along with the ULEZ, congestion and airport drop-off charges. As a result, many PCO drivers seem concerned about the latest revision of PCN fines.

The fine structure is updated as follows:

• Band A Higher Level Charges (Inner London): £130 → £160
• Band B Higher Level Charges (Outer boroughs): £110 → £140

Higher level fines apply to more serious violations such as parking on yellow lines.

• Band A Lower Level Charges (Inner London): £80 → £110
• Band B Lower Level Charges (Outer boroughs): £60 → £90

Lower level fines apply to minor offences such as overstaying in a car park.

The increase will also apply to PCNs given by CCTV cameras, such as fines for using a bus lane.

Paying the fine within 14 days will result in a 50% discount.

PCO drivers spend more time on the road and have a greater risk of getting PCN fines.

Now, it is more important than ever for PCO drivers in London to drive and park legally to avoid these hefty fines.
